About The Role

The General Service Technician role is full-time or part-time and is hourly, based on business needs. The technician performs basic routine vehicle repair and maintenance services following company standards and manufacturer specifications. Delivering exceptional 5-star service, effective communication of vehicle issues, and ensuring guest expectations for time and quality are met are key responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform basic vehicle services and repairs efficiently according to Monro standards.
  2. Perform tire services including wheel removal, balancing, patch/plug repairs, changing, mounting, installation, and TPMS service.
  3. Perform vehicle services such as lubrications, oil changes, basic maintenance, battery testing, and installations.
  4. Complete Monro’s Courtesy Inspection on every vehicle, identifying and communicating additional services needed.
  5. Assist in inventory management, including pulling tires and parts, unloading, and stocking inventory.
  6. Maintain the store’s cleanliness and guest-ready condition.
  7. Follow safety standards during all services, including wheel torque and oil safety procedures.
  8. Test drive vehicles following company policies and safety laws.
  9. Adhere to company policies, governmental standards, and safety procedures.
  10. Maintain technical knowledge through training and courses.
  11. Operate and maintain all equipment safely per guidelines.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
Compensation

The hourly pay range is $16 - $19, with potential additional incentives based on experience.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Automotive training or experience in basic car maintenance and repair.
  • Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Own a basic set of tools or participate in Monro’s tool purchase program.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Work in an automotive shop environment with exposure to noise, weather, chemicals, odors, dirt, and dust. Must be able to work flexible hours, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, reaching, bending, and kneeling.
