Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a full-time General Service Technician to join Team Mavis in the Round Lake Beach, IL area. You’ll perform essential tire and vehicle maintenance alongside experienced technicians, with paid training and opportunities to grow into lead roles.

Qualifications include being at least 18, legally eligible to work in the United States, and a commitment to safety and teamwork. Prior automotive experience is a plus but not required; training is provided.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Be reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.
• Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on automotive environment.
• Have a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality service.
• Previous automotive experience is a plus, but not required. Paid training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Dismounting, mounting, rotating, and balancing tires.
• Performing flat tire repairs.
• Completing oil and filter changes.
• Checking and topping off vehicle fluids.
• Performing basic vehicle maintenance and inspections.
• Identifying visible tire and maintenance concerns.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Following established safety and service procedures.
• Helping ensure quality service and timely completion of customer vehicles.
