• High School Diploma or equivalent; Automotive Technology degree or certification from an accredited institution preferred.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as an Automotive Flat Rate Technician in a dealership or independent repair shop setting.
• ASE certifications (e.g., Master Automobile Technician) are highly preferred.
• Proficiency in using automotive diagnostic equipment and software.
• Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems, engine performance, braking systems, and suspension components.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and service manuals.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Own a complete set of automotive tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform all levels of automotive repair and maintenance per manufacturer specifications.
• Accurately diagnose and repair vehicle malfunctions using diagnostic equipment and manuals.
• Communicate repair progress and estimated completion times with service advisors.
• Document repairs performed, parts used, and time spent on work orders.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment with proper PPE.
• Mentor junior technicians and apprentices as needed.
• Perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform all levels of automotive repair and maintenance, including but not limited to engine diagnostics, electrical system troubleshooting, brake services, suspension work, and fluid flushes, in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
• Accurately diagnose and repair vehicle malfunctions using specialized diagnostic equipment and technical manuals.
• Communicate effectively with service advisors regarding repair progress, additional needed repairs, and estimated completion times.
• Document all repairs performed, parts used, and time spent accurately and completely on work orders.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring the proper care and maintenance of all tools and equipment.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Continuously update technical knowledge and skills through training and professional development.
• Assist in mentoring junior technicians and apprentices as needed.
• Perform quality control checks on completed work to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction.
