Job summary

Pierce Manufacturing, an Oshkosh company, seeks an Electrical Engineering intern to design reliable electrical systems for heavy trucks. You will create drawings, BOMs, and ECNs, working across engineering, manufacturing and supplier teams.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with hands-on CAD experience (CATIA/SolidWorks) and knowledge of wiring schematics. This internship offers exposure to automotive electronics in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Professional oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with automotive/heavy duty truck electrical applications or similar.
• Lean manufacturing concepts exposure (value streams, 5S, waste).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering drawings, layouts and schematics.
• Create Bills of Material (BOM).
• Dimension and tolerance drawings for proper assembly.
• Prepare ECNs and coordinate with suppliers.
• Support electrical/multiplexing questions in production and field services.
