Job summary

Capital Ford of Lillington is seeking a skilled Automotive Diesel Technician to join our service team. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered vehicles, using diagnostic tools and providing estimates in collaboration with service advisors.

The ideal candidate has experience with diesel engine systems, transmissions, exhaust, and hydraulics, and holds or is pursuing ASE Diesel certifications. We offer competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Experience as Automotive Diesel Technician with focus on diesel repairs.
  • Knowledge of diesel engine systems and diagnostics.
  • Experience with transmissions, exhaust, and hydraulic systems.
  • ASE Diesel Engines certifications desirable.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
  • Use diagnostic tools to identify issues with diesel engines.
  • Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, filters, fluids.
  • Inspect, repair, and rebuild transmissions in diesel vehicles.
  • Repair exhaust systems including mufflers and catalytic converters.
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems in diesel vehicles and heavy equipment.
  • Communicate repair options and timelines with Service Advisors.
  • Follow safety protocols and dealership procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Capital Ford of Lillington is seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Diesel Technician to join our service team. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, in-depth knowledge of diesel engine systems, and a commitment to delivering high-quality repairs. What You'll Be Doing
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues with diesel engines and related systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
  • Inspect, repair. and rebuild transmissions in diesel-powered vehicles.
  • Repair and replace exhaust system components, including mufflers and catalytic converters.
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems in diesel vehicles and heavy-duty equipment.
  • Communicate with Service Advisors regarding repair options, additional work, and estimated timelines.
  • Follow all safety protocols and dealership procedures during repair activities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience as an Automotive Diesel Technician, with a focus on diesel engine repairs, preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of diesel engine systems, diagnostics, and repair techniques.
  • Experience with transmissions, exhaust systems, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficiency in using automotive tools, diagnostic equipment, and repair equipment.
  • ASE certifications in Diesel Engines or related areas are highly desirable.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technicians and service personnel.
  • Excellent communication skills and a service-oriented mindset.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changes in diesel engine technology and repair techniques.
  • Must pass pre-employment background screenings.
