Job summary

Venteon in Plymouth, Michigan seeks a Design Engineer for a full-time, permanent role to develop and improve automotive structural components and assemblies. You will work with a project team to ensure designs fit the vehicle package, meet targets, and comply with safety and quality standards.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Design/Engineering plus CAD/GD&T/CAE proficiency, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Design, Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of design standards in automobile structures and suspension systems.
• CAD, GD&T, CAE, and other software understanding.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience with modeling techniques and drawing standards.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
• Ability to read and write in English and perform mathematical calculations.
• Ability to convey technical details to a non-technical audience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven leadership ability and excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Create designs for new and/or improved automotive structural components, frames, and assemblies.
• Collaborate with project team to fit vehicle package and meet performance targets.
• Provide input into departmental goals and cost estimation.
• Design projects for new/improved automobile structures and components.
• Support design process with modeling, analysis, and cost estimation.
• Maintain capability standards and safety compliance.
• Assist in ECRs and BOM updates; track ECRs in project tools.
• Monitor budgets and resources to meet deadlines.
• Document design changes and oversee overlays and simulations.
