Job summary

Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America is seeking an engineer to support data logging across US durability test fleets. You will maintain measurement equipment, troubleshoot loggers, and coordinate sensor work orders with customers and workshops.

The role requires a BS in an engineering field and 3+ years of related experience, with knowledge of CAN/CCP/LIN/FlexRay, OBD, and ECU software. Domestic travel and a valid driver’s license are expected.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Automotive, or Mechanical Engineering.
3+ years of relevant work experience.
Experience troubleshooting data logger equipment and databases.
Knowledge of ECU design and ECU SW functionality.
Understanding of vehicle electrical systems and OBD/diagnostics.
Strong communication and teamwork; German language preferred.
Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair data logger systems in US durability test fleets and coordinate new signal configurations.
Document measurement hardware and sensors in required databases.
Monitor and troubleshoot onboard diagnostic loggers to ensure data readouts are exported to MB customer servers.
Develop and install new measurement systems in test cars and order sensor hardware as needed.
Execute tests and deliver data to MB customer departments across Thermo/Analog sensors, CAN/CCP/LIN/FlexRay, OBD, Diagnostics, Active Safety, Fuel Economy, NVH.
Participate in continuous process improvement for data logger and data handling processes.
