Job summary

PACCAR Global Powertrain Validation in Mount Vernon, WA is seeking a Data Analysis Engineer to support data acquisition on validation and field test fleets and translate findings into test requirements and dashboard visuals.

You will bridge validation and Engineering Solutions teams, develop MATLAB analyses, dashboards in Power BI/Tableau, and document tools; travel up to 10% may be needed.

Qualifications

• 5 years of test data analysis within automotive sector or related experience.
• Experience developing dashboards and visualizations in Power BI or Tableau
• Proficiency in MATLAB programming, including function development, large dataset processing, and plotting
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software development best practices
• Experience with version control systems such as Git
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain MATLAB-based analysis, writing clean, well-documented code and performing testing, debugging, and optimization
• Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate business needs into functional MATLAB solutions and dashboard visualizations.
• Suggest relevant visualizations and analysis to assist in understanding and documenting fleet use
• Create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and code comments to support knowledge transfer, maintenance, and end-user training.
• Stay current with MATLAB and related technologies, proactively identifying opportunities to improve tools, processes, and workflows.
• Up to 10% of travel (domestic and international)
