Job summary

General Motors is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to develop and document requirements for automotive system design, manage critical interfaces for component reuse, and oversee cross-functional requirements. You will support root cause analysis and design tests to uncover improvements.

The role involves documenting mitigation plans for vulnerabilities, tracking corrective actions, and collaborating with manufacturing and engineering teams to deliver robust solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronic Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Five years of experience as Systems/Controls/Electrical Engineer or related role.
  • Experience with Siemens CNC, Step7 and HMI WinCC; and FlexNet, Q-Das and Thingworx.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and document requirements to design an automotive system.
  • Design and manage interfaces to enable component reuse and standard methodologies.
  • Oversee requirements development with other activities.
  • Provide support for root cause analysis.
  • Design tests to identify opportunities for design improvements.
  • Identify and document system vulnerabilities and craft mitigation action plans; track corrective actions.
