Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or equivalent experience and/or training.
• Automotive accounting experience preferred.
• Four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Honesty, integrity, reliability and good work ethics are required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements according to dealership guidelines and manufacturer formats.
• Provide department managers with detailed financial and management reports.
• Review the general ledger detail and scheduled accounts; investigate any unusual entries.
• Prepare monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts for bank reconciliation, reserve accounts, factory payables and floor plan payables.
• Ensure compliance with government finance regulations, including taxes and filings; manage retirement plan records.
• Prepare and process all insurance claims.
• Ensure office staff use proper accounting procedures and prepare information for the CPA to minimize audit costs.
• Hire, train, coach and promote accounting and HR staff.
• Improve data integrity and information reporting across the dealership.
• Maintain professional appearance.
• Oversee data processing and fixed asset additions.
• Reconcile physical vehicle inventory monthly; reconcile WIP, sublet, and paint accounts.
• Ensure title work is completed timely.
• Some travel required.

Accounting and financial operations for all three dealerships are centralized at our Tallahassee location.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Accounting, Human Resources, Payroll, Risk management, Data Processing and Security, Regulatory Compliance and Title work are all areas of responsibility.
• Prepareand analyze monthlyfinancial statements according to dealership guidelines and within each manufacturer's format and time frame.
• Provide department managers with detailed financial and management reports.
• Review the general ledger detail and scheduled accounts. Noteany unusual entries and investigate.
• Prepare monthlyreconciliation of general ledger accounts tooutside sources to ensure proper bank reconciliation, reserve accounts, factory payable and floor plan payable.
• Ensures compliance with all applicable government finance regulations, including filing and/or maintaining of required forms, payroll taxes and deposits, sales tax returns,income taxes, retirement plan records etc.
• Prepares and processes all insurance claims.
• Ensures that all office personnel are using proper accounting procedures and maintaining accurate records and analyses and supervises the preparation of all information for the CPA in order to minimize audit or review costs.
• Hire, train, coach and promote all accounting and HR staff.
• Continually striveto improve data integrity and information reporting throughout the dealership.
