Job summary

AutoNation is hiring a Certified Technician to perform vehicle repair and maintenance to dealer and factory standards. You will communicate with Parts and Service Advisors to manage production and customer expectations, diagnose issues, perform authorized repairs, and conduct multi-point inspections to ensure safety and reliability.

Qualified candidates have a High School diploma, 2+ years as an automotive technician, and hands-on automotive training.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of automotive technician experience preferred.
• Automotive technical training as needed by the store.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repair and maintenance following repair orders and standards.
• Communicate with Parts and Service Advisors to manage production and customer communication.
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs with customer authorization.
• Conduct multi-point inspections and recommend safety improvements.
• Document all work on the repair order and maintain tool inventory as needed.
• Stay current with factory bulletins and training classes.

What We’re Looking For:

What are the day-to-day responsibilities?

• Performing vehicle repair and/or maintenance work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards, to drive Customer loyalty.
• Communicating with the Parts Department and Service Advisors regularly to effectively manage production and Customer communication.
• Diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and performing repair, if authorized by the Customer.
• Conducting multi-point inspections to make appropriate recommendations to ensure the safety and reliability of Customer vehicles.
• Documenting work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
• Maintaining an inventory of normal Technician’s tools not normally inventoried by the Service department as “special tools.”
• Keeping abreast of factory technical bulletins and participating in factory-sponsored training classes as appropriate.
• Providing an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty

What are the requirements for this job?

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience as an automotive technician
• Automotive technical training (varies based on store needs)
• Attention to detail
• Organization and follow-up skills
• Valid in-state driver’s license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record
