Job summary

AutoNation in Miami is seeking an Advanced Technician to perform vehicle repair and maintenance per dealer and factory standards, while building customer loyalty through trust and reliability.

You will work with Service Advisors, Parts, and other Technicians to diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles, following safety protocols and leveraging OEM training. This role offers paid training and career growth across service, sales, and management tracks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2+ years in automotive technician role including repair and maintenance.
• Automotive technical training as required by store.
• Valid in-state driver’s license with safe driving record.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repair and maintenance per repair order, meeting dealer and factory standards to drive loyalty.
• Communicate with Parts Department and Service Advisors to manage production and customer communication.
• Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform repairs if authorized by customer.
• Conduct multi-point inspections to improve safety and reliability of customer vehicles.
• Document work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
• Maintain an inventory of tools not normally inventoried by Service.
• Stay updated with factory bulletins and participate in training classes.
• Provide an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty.

Who Would I Interact With?

This position interacts daily with Customers, Service Advisors, other Technicians, Parts Associates, Sales Associates, and Managers, just to name a few.

What are the day‑to‑day responsibilities?

• Performing vehicle repair and/or maintenance work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards, to drive Customer loyalty.
• Communicating with the Parts Department and Service Advisors regularly to effectively manage production and Customer communication.
• Diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and performing repair, if authorized by the Customer.
• Conducting multi‑point inspections to make appropriate recommendations to ensure the safety and reliability of Customer vehicles.
• Documenting work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
• Maintaining an inventory of normal Technician’s tools not normally inventoried by the Service department as “special tools.”
• Keeping abreast of factory technical bulletins and participating in factory‑sponsored training classes as appropriate.
• Providing an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty

What are the requirements for this job?

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience as an automotive technician
• Automotive technical training (varies based on store needs)
• Attention to detail
