Overview

We are currently looking to hire an experienced Automotive Business Development Director – Premium & Luxury, based in our Paris office. This is a strategic and highly commercial role for an entrepreneurial automotive expert who can leverage a strong senior network, create and convert new business opportunities, and help CXG expand its position with leading premium and luxury automotive brands.

What you will be doing

Reporting to CXG Chief Customer Officer, you will lead the commercial development of CXG's Automotive Industry practice. Your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:

1. Automotive Business Development Leadership
  • Lead the commercial development of CXG's Automotive Industry practice, with direct ownership of new client acquisition and market expansion.
  • Update and maintain a compelling Automotive value proposition that leverages CXG's capabilities, methodologies, resources, differentiators, and data, and addresses the priorities of stakeholders across the industry and regions, including brands, importers, distributors, and showroom management.
  • Promote the value proposition internally and externally and constantly search for new ways to improve it.
  • Serve as CXG's internal and external automotive industry expert and the key point of contact for automotive projects, strategic client discussions, and new business opportunities.
  • Develop and execute a clear commercial strategy to acquire new automotive clients, personally leveraging an established senior network to generate qualified opportunities, build a strong pipeline, and convert prospects into sustainable revenue.
  • Ensure all relevant parties are included in proposal preparation, so the most powerful offers are presented to prospects while taking current and future operational capacity into account.
  • Establish the annual business plan, including revenue ambitions, priority accounts, pipeline targets, key commercial actions, and market development initiatives.
  • Monitor the commercial performance of CXG's Automotive Industry practice, including pipeline development, conversion, and revenue growth, and provide clear reporting to management and the Executive Committee.
2. Client Development and Internal Expertise
  • New client acquisition sits at the heart of this role. It is the primary criterion and the main measure of success.
  • Create measurable value for both prospects and existing clients by connecting their business priorities with CXG's full range of capabilities.
  • For existing clients, work closely with the CSMs responsible for automotive accounts and join meetings at key milestones, including the presentation of deliverables, discussions about account growth opportunities, and conversations on current client challenges. Use your expertise to strengthen the client dialogue, help resolve issues, and maximize additional business opportunities.
  • Act as the internal subject matter expert for the CSMs managing automotive accounts, sharing relevant market, client, and industry knowledge to strengthen their credibility and effectiveness.
  • Coach CSMs to identify whitespace, develop account expansion plans, and build stronger relationships with senior client stakeholders. Join client meetings whenever your expertise can increase the value of the discussion or support the conversion of an opportunity.
  • Advise clients on CXG's Automotive value proposition, and ensure discussions cover our Measurement, Academy, Customer Insights, and Consulting capabilities.
  • Own the business development effort for the Automotive Industry practice, from market mapping and opportunity creation through proposal development, negotiation, and conversion.
  • Develop and nurture CXG's visibility and credibility across relevant automotive markets through active networking, industry events, thought leadership, and white papers.
What you will bring along

This role requires a genuine passion for the automotive and luxury industries.

You should also have the below:

  • Master's degree in Luxury Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a Business School or similar institution.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the automotive sector, with significant exposure to consulting, marketing, sales, or business development in the premium or luxury segment.
  • Fluent English is mandatory, with German as a plus and French as a nice-to-have.
  • An extensive and active network of senior decision-makers across the premium and luxury automotive sector, with the credibility and relationship-building skills to open doors, create qualified opportunities, and position CXG's value proposition. This is a core requirement for the role.
