Job summary

Pacer Group is seeking a Test Technician II to support heavy‑duty vehicle testing. You will install and remove components on trucks and trailers, monitor basic tests, and work with engineering to meet testing plans while maintaining safety and quality.

A CDL is required or willing to obtain one, with potential domestic and international travel up to 20%. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in trucking or mechanical fields, strong basic lab skills, and the ability to lift 40 lbs and operate equipment

Job Description:

• A Technician II has a basic understanding of laboratory operations. This person is self-motivated, can follow instructions and can complete routine assignments with minimal supervision.

Note:

• The Test Technician will be responsible for installing and removing components from trucks and trailers, assisting with vehicle testing and evaluations, and working with engineering teams to complete assigned tasks. Experience with air brake systems is highly preferred.
• The position involves working both indoors and outdoors, moving trucks and trailers as needed, and operating vehicles on and off the hoist. A Class A CDL is required or must be obtained before transitioning into a Full Time role, and candidates must be willing to obtain their CDL.
• A typical day begins with arriving for work and participating in team meetings, followed by receiving assigned tasks. The technician will work closely with engineering to understand the testing plan and expectations, perform the required work on vehicles, and ensure all assigned tasks are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.

• Ability to lift 40 lbs and push/pull 150 lbs.
• Stand for long periods of time.

Experience:

• Familiarity with mechanical systems and/or automotive background.
• Ideal for someone with 1–2 years of experience in the trucking, automotive, or mechanical industry, or for someone who is mechanically inclined and interested in working with heavy-duty vehicles.

Education:

• Technical degree or equivalent work experience.
