Job summary

Magna International is seeking an Engineer Body to design, develop, validate, and release vehicle body and exterior components across programs. You will own assigned components from concept through launch, collaborating with customer engineering, design studios, CATIA teams, suppliers, and manufacturing to meet appearance, performance, cost, quality, and timing targets.

The role requires a Bachelor's in mechanical engineering and 5+ years in automotive product development, with CATIA V5/V6 and

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
5+ years in automotive product development for body/exterior components.
Experience releasing components through prototype to launch.
Proficiency with CATIA and PLM systems (ENOVIA).
Strong knowledge of GD&T, DFMEA, and PPAP processes.

Responsibilities

Design and develop body and exterior systems including fascias, grilles, trim, and attachments.
Lead components from requirements through design, validation, and launch.
Create and manage 3D CATIA models, drawings, specs, and BOMs.
Ensure packaging, appearance harmony, manufacturability, and serviceability.
Provide technical direction to engineers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
Lead part release activities in the PLM environment and maintain docs.
Coordinate DFMEA, RFQs, tolerance analyses, and design reviews.
Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing to ensure launch readiness.
Support vehicle builds, issue resolution, and implement corrective actions.
