Pomp's Tire Service, Inc. in Elgin, IL is seeking an Automotive Alignment and Lube Technician to join our team.

You will analyze wheels on each vehicle, perform tire changes/rotations, and align wheels per manufacturer specs using proper tools and equipment. You’ll diagnose tire needs, inspect vehicles for issues, perform oil changes and lubrication, and service suspension, brakes, and steering to ensure safety.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in passenger tire service preferred.
• Previous experience in automotive oil change and lubes preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to read and verify work order information.
• Ability to lift, carry, or move 50 pounds regularly.

Responsibilities

• Conduct wheel alignments on vehicles to ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose and address customer tire needs.
• Inspect tires and vehicles for potential issues or additional repairs.
• Perform tire rotations, balancing, and repairs as needed.
• Work with suspension, brake, and steering systems to ensure safety and reliability.
• Perform oil changes and lubrication services on passenger vehicles according to manufacturer specifications.
• Inspect fluid levels and top off or replace fluids as needed (including transmission, coolant, brake, power steering, windshield washer, and differential fluids).
• Replace engine air filters, cabin air filters, wiper blades, and other minor vehicle maintenance services.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper care of equipment.
• Additional tasks as assigned by manager
