Job summary

Leonard Truck Outfitters in Gastonia, NC is seeking an Installation Technician to install aftermarket parts on trucks and commercial vehicles at our local store with opportunities to support other locations.

You will perform installs, quality checks, and wiring for cameras and GPS while delivering excellent customer service and accurate paperwork. This role requires a high school diploma, valid license, and hands-on mechanical skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification from a vocational school or apprenticeship preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (if required to test-drive vehicles).
• Proven experience as an automotive parts installer or similar role.

Responsibilities

• Installs aftermarket automotive parts and accessories on customers’ vehicles as per specifications (bed liners, running boards, tonneau covers, hitches, etc).
• Conducts pre- and post-quality checks.
• Mounts and balances wheels and tires; aligns as needed.
• Installs lighting systems to improve visibility.
• Troubleshoots and resolves installation issues.
• Wires electronic components (backup cameras, GPS, alarms).
• Customizes vehicles per customer specifications.
• Maintains accurate work orders and invoices.
• Keeps work area clean and safe.
• Travels to other company locations as needed.
