Job description

Utz Quality Foods is seeking a knowledgeable and hands-on Automation Training Coordinator to support our growing network of manufacturing facilities across the U.S. This onsite role, primarily based in Hanover, PA, involves developing and delivering technical training programs to enhance the skills of our production and maintenance teams nationwide.

This role combines automation, engineering, and workforce development, ideal for someone passionate about translating complex systems into clear, actionable learning for operators and technicians at all levels.

Responsibilities:
  1. Design, deliver, and manage hands-on training programs for operators and maintenance technicians on automated manufacturing and packaging systems, including PLCs, robotics, and integrated production lines.
  2. Travel up to 35% to support site-specific training and conduct on-the-floor coaching across multiple U.S. locations.
  3. Support all shifts as needed, with occasional early, late, or weekend hours based on plant schedules.
  4. Collaborate with site and corporate teams to create standardized and site-specific training materials such as visual aids, SOPs, and digital content.
  5. Assess technical skill levels and maintain competency matrices across facilities and shifts.
  6. Serve as a training resource and coach during onboarding, role changes, or cross-training opportunities.
  7. Maintain accurate training records in the Learning Management System (LMS) and track progress for compliance and performance.
  8. Partner with Engineering, Maintenance, Production, and HR teams to foster a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  2. Ability to travel up to 35% across U.S. facilities and support all shifts.
  3. Hands-on experience with automation technologies, including robotics, PLCs, motion controls, and AGVs/AMRs.
  4. Experience developing and delivering technical training in a manufacturing environment.
  5. Prior experience in food manufacturing or high-speed regulated environments is preferred.
  6. Familiarity with LMS, document control systems, and digital training tools.
  7. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex systems.
  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and troubleshooting software.
  9. Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
