Job description

Utz Quality Foods is seeking a knowledgeable and hands-on Automation Training Coordinator to support our growing network of manufacturing facilities across the U.S. This onsite role is primarily based in Hanover, PA, and involves developing and delivering technical training programs to enhance the skills of our production and maintenance teams nationwide.

This position combines automation, engineering, and workforce development, ideal for someone passionate about translating complex systems into clear, actionable training for operators and technicians at all levels.

Responsibilities:
  1. Design, deliver, and manage hands-on training programs for operators and maintenance technicians on automated manufacturing and packaging systems, including PLCs, robotics, and integrated production lines.
  2. Travel up to 35% to support site-specific training needs and conduct on-the-floor coaching across multiple U.S. locations.
  3. Support all shifts as needed, with flexible hours including early, late, or weekend shifts depending on plant schedules.
  4. Collaborate with site and corporate teams to build standardized, site-specific training materials such as visual aids, SOPs, and digital learning content.
  5. Assess technical skill levels and maintain competency matrices across facilities and shifts.
  6. Serve as a training resource and coach during onboarding, role changes, or cross-training initiatives.
  7. Maintain accurate training records in the Learning Management System (LMS) and track progress for compliance and performance.
  8. Partner with Engineering, Maintenance, Production, and HR teams to foster a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Computer Science, or related technical field.
  2. Ability to travel up to 35% across U.S. facilities and support all shifts.
  3. Hands-on experience with automation technologies, including robotics, PLC systems, motion controls, and autonomous forklifts (AGVs/AMRs).
  4. Proven ability to develop and deliver technical training programs in a manufacturing environment.
  5. Experience in food manufacturing or regulated environments is preferred.
  6. Familiarity with LMS, document control, and digital training tools.
  7. Excellent communication skills; able to simplify complex systems.
  8. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and troubleshooting software.
  9. Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
