Job summary

Alro Steel in Orlando, FL is seeking an experienced Automation Specialist to join our team. The role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining automated equipment, including conveyors and PLC systems, in a fast-paced industrial environment.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED with technical training or equivalent on-the-job experience, electrical and PLC proficiency, the ability to read safety and maintenance docs, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 1 year technical school or 4 years on-the-job training in an industrial maintenance environment.
• Electrical and PLC experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, operate and test machinery and equipment to diagnose source of problems, determining parts and estimated time frame to complete repairs.
• Experience trouble shooting wiring diagrams and PLC controls.
• Must have experience working with automated equipment including conveyor systems, pickers, cranes, saws, etc…
• Full understanding of safety systems related to operations of automated systems.
• Must be familiar with working safely around high and low voltage systems and be familiar with lockout/tagout procedures.
• Able to perform inspections/maintenance at varying heights up to 80 feet.
