Job summary

Alro Steel Corporation in Orlando, FL is seeking an Automation Specialist to inspect, operate and test machinery, diagnose problems, and support repairs of automated systems. You will work with conveyors, pickers, cranes, saws and related equipment to keep production running safely and efficiently.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or technical training, PLC/electrical experience, and the ability to read safety and maintenance documents.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED plus 1 year of technical school, or 4 years on-the-job industrial maintenance training.
• Electrical and PLC experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, operate and test machinery and equipment to diagnose sources of problems and estimate repair time.
• Troubleshoot wiring diagrams and PLC controls.
• Work with automated equipment including conveyors, pickers, cranes and saws.
• Maintain safety systems and follow lockout/tagout procedures.
• Perform inspections/maintenance at varying heights up to 80 feet.
