Job summary

Wurth Industry USA is seeking an Automation Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize automated systems and equipment to support production goals. The role focuses on reliability, safety, and operational efficiency across multiple automation platforms.

You will work with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, drives, and robotics, performing preventive and corrective maintenance while collaborating with engineering and operations on continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Associate degree or technical certification in automation or related field preferred.
2+ years in industrial automation, maintenance, or controls systems preferred.
Experience with CMMS systems is preferred.
Knowledge of networked industrial systems (Ethernet/IP, Modbus) preferred.
Certification in automation or maintenance (ISA, Siemens, Rockwell) preferred.
Strong troubleshooting, detail orientation, and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automated equipment including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, drives, and robotics.
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control system issues to minimize downtime.
Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential failures.
Assist in programming, modifying, and debugging PLC and control systems.
Support integration of new automation equipment into existing systems.
Maintain and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
Identify opportunities to improve system efficiency, uptime, and safety.
Collaborate with engineering and operations on continuous improvement initiatives.
Assist with root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Support installation, startup, and commissioning of new systems and equipment.
Validate system functionality and ensure proper calibration and configuration.
Follow all safety procedures, LOTO, and regulatory requirements.
Ensure all automation systems meet safety standards and compliance guidelines.
Participate in safety audits and risk assessments.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and work logs.
Document system changes, repairs, and upgrades.
Provide clear communication on system status and issues.
