Job summary

Lilly is seeking an Engineering Automation Technician to provide hands-on mechanical, electrical, and automation support for OEM filling equipment. You will troubleshoot PLC/HMI systems, collaborate with Operations and Engineering, and drive improvements while maintaining a qualified state of equipment.

Role requires leadership experience, working knowledge of PLC/HMI platforms, and CMMS familiarity. Shift is a 12-hour day schedule; on-site in Wisconsin, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical discipline or equivalent automation experience.
• Prior leadership role required.
• Hands-on troubleshooting of highly automated manufacturing equipment (filling/packaging).
• Working knowledge of PLC and HMI platforms (Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
• Experience with CMMS systems (Maximo, SAP).
• Strong documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line mechanical automation and electrical support for OEM automated filling equipment to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot PLC/HMI and automation hardware and coordinate with Operations to restore equipment.
• Investigate recurring faults and production delays.
• Plan and execute equipment automation improvements and small projects with vendor coordination.
• Ensure work complies with safety, cGMP, and site procedures.
• Document issues, root causes, and corrective actions; support standard work and training.
