Job summary

CyberCoders, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Automation Technician in West Bend, WI to install, commission, maintain, and troubleshoot automated machinery and control systems.

You will support machine building, program PLCs, configure HMIs, and drive improvements for safe, reliable production. The role requires strong troubleshooting, experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms, and the ability to work with engineering and production teams.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on experience with automated machinery or industrial equipment.
• Proven PLC programming experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) with ladder logic and structured text.
• Experience configuring HMIs and operator interfaces.
• Strong ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Excellent troubleshooting across electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
• Willingness to travel; valid driver's license.
• Safety minded, team-oriented and focused on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission and test automated machinery and production equipment on-site and in the shop.
• Program, modify and troubleshoot PLC logic and ladder code for platforms such as AllenBradley and Siemens.
• Design and configure HMI screens and operator interfaces to improve usability and diagnostics.
• Assemble mechanical components and perform electrical wiring per schematics and build documentation.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical faults to minimize downtime.
• Perform preventative maintenance, calibrations and machine performance checks.
• Support machine building projects by interpreting drawings and reporting status to engineering.
• Create and update technical documentation, wiring diagrams, PLC/HMI code comments and service logs.
• Train and support operators and maintenance staff on machine operation and safe work practices.
• Adhere to company safety standards and participate in continuous improvement and root cause analysis activities.

Automation Technician

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Automation Technician to install, commission, maintain and troubleshoot automated machinery and control systems. The successful candidate will support machine building projects, perform PLC programming and HMI configuration, carry out mechanical assembly and electrical wiring, and drive continuous improvement to ensure reliable, safe production. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, practical experience with PLCs and automated equipment, and the ability to work closely with engineering and production teams.

Qualifications

• Experience configuring and troubleshooting HMIs and operator interfaces.
• Strong mechanical assembly skills and ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills across electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
• Experience with machine installs, commissioning and field service work.
• Familiarity with tools and test equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, megohmmeter, hand tools).
• Valid drivers license; ability to travel to customer sites as required.
• Strong communication, teamwork and documentation skills; commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
