Job summary

First Solar is seeking an entry-level Automation Technician to support manufacturing operations, assist with equipment startup, and troubleshoot control systems. The role includes a rotating 36/48 hour week on AM or PM shifts, with every other Friday–Sunday work. A 2+ year background or 5+ years without a degree meets the minimum.

You will work on electrical/electronic control systems, read electrical drawings, and apply safety practices while supporting MES integration and system upgrades.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of manufacturing equipment electrical/electronic/controls experience.
• Preferred degree in Electrical, Robotics, Industrial Controls, or Electronic Engineering.
• No Degree requires 5+ years of verifiable related experience.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing facilities and remote worldwide sites.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical control systems.
• Assist with new equipment installation and MES integration.
• Maintain and update electrical drawings for process tools.
• Implement software changes as directed by Controls Engineering.
• Identify and present solutions to control problems and improvements.
• Interface with multiple departments and maintain communications.
• Ensure safety procedures and housekeeping standards.
