Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated is seeking an Automation/Controls Technician to support engineers and technicians in building custom automation equipment. This role involves assisting with assembly, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting, including robotics, sensors, VFDs, and PLCs.

You will read drawings, interpret designs, manage materials from shop and vendors, and ensure components meet specifications while developing your skills through on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• Five+ years in a mechanic/manufacturing/machinist environment or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Interpret designs with engineers/technicians to bring designs to life.
• Study specifications and drawings to build automation equipment.
• Organize materials from shop and vendors for projects; verify dimensions and clearances.
• Wire and plumb machines under guidance; setup basic automation electronics (sensors, VFDs, PLCs).
• Operate machine tools like lathes and milling machines; verify machined parts meet specs.
• Attend training to expand knowledge of programming, machine maintenance, hydraulics, pneumatics, and robotics.
