Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated, based in New Hampshire, seeks an Automation/Controls Technician to support engineers in building custom automation equipment. You will work on robots, sensors, dial indexers, and automatic packaging systems to bring designs to life from SolidWorks drawings and descriptions.

Role includes wiring and testing equipment, setting up basic automation electronics, operating machine tools, and willingness to train in PLC/robotic coding.

Qualifications

• Hands-on repair skills from fixing equipment, machining, fabrication.
• Troubleshooting and assembly experience.
• Ability to interpret drawings and models.
• Experience with automation equipment wiring and basic electronics.

Responsibilities

• Work with automation engineers to interpret designs and bring them to life, using SolidWorks models, drawings, or sketches to guide assembly.
• Organize materials from machine shop and vendors; plan layout and assembly methods, verify dimensions and clearances.
• Lift and position machine parts; assemble components into assemblies and mechanisms.
• Wire and plumb machines under engineers' guidance; set up and troubleshoot basic automation electronics (sensors, VFDs).
• Operate or set up machine tools (lathes, milling machines, welding) to fabricate parts and verify conformance to specs.
• Attend training to expand knowledge of programming languages and machine maintenance (Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, PLC-Robotic coding).
