You will troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and optimize robotic systems, diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automation issues, and collaborate with production, maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to minimize downtime and drive improvements.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Automation / Robotics Technician to support automated manufacturing equipment and robotic systems within a plastics manufacturing environment. This position will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and optimizing robotic and automated equipment used in plastics routing and trimming operations.The ideal candidate will have direct, hands-on experience working with robotic routing of plastic components. Experience focused primarily on automotive manufacturing or injection molding is not a substitute for plastics routing experience.Key ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot, diagnose, and repair robotic and automated manufacturing equipment.Support robotic routing, trimming, and cutting processes for plastic components.Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on automation equipment.Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automation-related equipment issues.Troubleshoot robot faults, sensors, motors, controls, and associated equipment.Make adjustments to robotic equipment and programs to maintain quality and production requirements.Respond quickly to equipment downtime and work to identify root causes of recurring issues.Assist with equipment improvements, modifications, installations, and automation projects.Work closely with production, maintenance, engineering, and operations teams.Maintain a safe and organized work environment while following established safety procedures.Required QualificationsPrevious experience as an Automation Technician, Robotics Technician, Automation Maintenance Technician, or similar hands-on role.Direct experience with plastics routing / robotic routing of plastic components is required.Strong robotic troubleshooting and maintenance experience.Ability to troubleshoot automated equipment from both a mechanical and electrical standpoint.Experience diagnosing sensors, motors, controls, pneumatics, and other automation components.Ability to independently troubleshoot equipment problems and minimize production downtime.Strong understanding of industrial safety and preventative maintenance practices.Preferred ExperienceExperience programming, teaching, or making adjustments to industrial robots.PLC troubleshooting experience.Experience with CNC or robotic routing equipment.Background in plastics manufacturing involving routed, trimmed, or cut plastic components.
