Job summary

Johnson Matthey in Smithfield, PA, is hiring an Automation Technician to operate and maintain automation control systems in a manufacturing setting. You will troubleshoot, service, and optimize PLC/SCADA equipment, update documentation, and collaborate with vendors to solve complex automation issues.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree in a relevant field, hands-on experience with PLCs and HMIs, and strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Experience with PLCs, HMI/SCADA systems and industrial automation in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems including drives, control panels and power distribution.
  • Ability to analyse faults, identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Familiarity with Allen-Bradley systems (ControlLogix, RSLogix 5000) and industrial networks is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Support the operation of automation control systems to maintain safe, reliable production.

The role:
  • Supporting the operation of automation control systems to maintain safe, reliable and efficient production
