Job summary

Bio-Techne is seeking an Automation Technician in Minnesota to operate production equipment, fill liquids into vials and microplates, and maintain accurate batch records. The role requires handling semi-automated machinery, adhering to SOPs and safety guidelines while meeting production targets.

Qualifications

  • Familiar with basic calculations and units of measurement.

  • Able to lift 5–50 lbs.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written English).

Responsibilities

  • Operate specialized production machines to fill liquids into vials and/or microplates.
  • Package standard vials into plastic pouches using custom pack equipment.
  • Batch and label products; maintain batch records and inventory.
  • Set up, clean, and operate semi-automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Adhere to SOPs and safety guidelines; meet cycle times and quality expectations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor/lead.

Pay Range: $18.40 - $25.30 Automation Technician

Principal duties and responsibilities:
  • Operating specialized production machines such as Oyster Bay, Hamilton plates filler and M&O Perry to fill liquid products into vials and/or microplates
  • Packaging standard vials into plastic pouches using custom standard pack equipment.
  • Batch and label products manually or utilize automated equipment
  • Document data, reference past batch records, and maintain accurate batch records and inventory of manufacturing components
  • Set up, clean, and operate semi-automated manufacturing equipment, such as Oyster Bay or Hamilton Plate Filling Machines and Standards packer
  • Adhere to lab protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and regulatory and safety guidelines
  • Meet product cycle times and quality expectations consistently
  • Follow daily work instructions and priorities set by the production supervisor/lead with a strong commitment to safety
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned
Job Qualifications Requirements:
  • Ability to work on routine tasks under supervision
  • Ability to operate general laboratory equipment and automated material handle equipment independently.
  • Knowledge of lab protocols, SOPs, chemical handling procedures, and safety and regulatory compliance standards
  • Familiar with basic calculations and unit of measurement
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment
  • Able to pick up heavy items (5-50lbs)
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written English)
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum high school diploma with 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Technical or associate degree in Mechatronics / Automation / Biotech Manufacturing or any other relevant technical degree with up to 1 years of relevant experience is preferred
  • Prior experience with general laboratory equipment (pipets, analytical balance, microscope, incubator and degassing device) is required
  • Prior experience operating material handling equipment is preferred
