Job summary

Accelera in the United States (Kentucky) is seeking an experienced Automation Technician to oversee automation hardware including PLCs and VFDs, ensuring equipment reliability across the Americas Zone.

You will install, troubleshoot, and repair industrial components, read mechanical and electrical blueprints, and contribute to preventative maintenance programs while traveling to different sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years maintenance experience in industrial manufacturing.
• Reading mechanical and electrical blueprints; CAD knowledge is a plus.
• Willingness to travel to different locations.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial automation hardware.

Responsibilities

Job description

As an Automation Technician, you will oversee the operational systems and machinery within the America's Zone. Your primary focus involves managing automation-related hardware, including PLCs and variable frequency drives.

Core Responsibilities

• Utilize various hand, power, and diagnostic tools to install and fix industrial components according to technical manuals and safety standards.
• Ensure mechanical systems remain functional by troubleshooting and repairing parts such as pneumatic lines, bearings, and piping.
• Improve maintenance tracking by logging labor, materials, and task details within the digital work order system.
• Enhance overall operational efficiency by refining preventative maintenance strategies to boost equipment reliability.
• Support a secure and organized workplace by strictly adhering to all internal safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

Your Profile

You thrive in hands-on roles where you can actively repair and maintain machinery. You possess strong analytical skills for complex troubleshooting, maintain clear verbal and written communication, and balance independent work with collaborative team efforts.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience performing maintenance tasks within an industrial manufacturing setting.
• A degree in a relevant technical field is considered an asset.
• Proficiency in reading mechanical and electrical blueprints, with CAD knowledge being a plus.
