Job summary

ControlSoft is seeking an Automation Technician to join our team in Beaverton, Oregon. You will assemble, test, troubleshoot and commission bespoke automation solutions, translating design drawings into working machines and documenting the build process.

You will work with mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems, collaborate with project teams, ensure quality and on-time delivery, and contribute to continuous improvement across the department.

Qualifications

  • FETAC Level 7 in Mechanical/Fitting or similar discipline.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to interpret electrical, mechanical and pneumatic drawings.
  • Excellent communication and craftsmanship to set tight tolerances.
  • Full Driver’s License is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble machines from design drawings and test assemblies.
  • Debug mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems.
  • Collaborate with multi-discipline project teams to meet milestones.
  • Perform site commissioning and handover.
  • Ensure build timelines and quality targets are achieved.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

We have an exciting career opportunity for an Automation Technician who will work as part of the ControlSoft team building and testing robotic & automation solutions for our customer client base. The successful candidate will assemble, test, troubleshoot, document and commission our automation solutions. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Working from the design drawings to perform the mechanical and electrical assembly of bespoke machines
  • Mechanical, electrical and pneumatic debug of machines
  • Liaise and communicate with the different project team members
  • Responsible for the quality of the build
  • Responsible for ensuring that machine build timelines and targets are achieved
  • Factory & Site Acceptance Testing
  • Checking of incoming parts and supplier components
  • Site commissioning and handover
  • Plan and prioritise work, across multiple projects, and ensure completion.
  • Work with multi-discipline teams to achieve project and company goals.
  • Collaborate with project teams, sharing knowledge and working on problem solving.
  • Contribute to Continuous Improvement within the department and across the business.
  • Must be a self starter with a good attention to detail, willing to take ownership and responsibility to realise project milestones.
Qualifications
  • FETAC Level 7 in Mechanical/Fitting or similar discipline
  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Ability to interpret electrical, mechanical and pneumatic drawings
  • Capable of clearly understanding the functionality of the equipment being built
  • Ability to troubleshoot and develop creative solutions both mechanically and electrically
  • A high degree of craft skill with the ability to setup machines to fine tolerances to produce the desired results
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills in MS office, experience with mechanical and electrical CAD software is an advantage
  • Full Driver’s License is required
