Job summary
Impact Solutions is seeking an Automation Systems Engineer to design and implement PLC/HMI code on Rockwell platforms, with a focus on motion control and machine vision. This direct-hire role requires hands-on startup involvement and periodic field travel in the Greater Milwaukee area.
The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of Allen-Bradley PLC experience, a relevant engineering degree, and a willingness to travel up to half the time for field commissioning.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of controls engineering experience writing Allen-Bradley PLC logic from scratch.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field.
- Willingness to travel 25%–50% domestically for field commissioning; commensurate with compensatory time off for weekend travel.
Responsibilities
- Design Scratch PLC/HMI Code: Develop robust PLC logic and intuitive HMI interfaces from scratch for complex, custom automation systems and robotic cells.
- Configure Motion & Vision Systems: Integrate multi-axis servo drives, EtherNet/IP, machine safety architectures, and vision platforms.
- Review Electrical Schematics: Verify panel layouts against BOMs and safety regulations in collaboration with CAD designers.
- Champion Field Startups: Lead on-site customer startups and commissioning sequences within travel window.
- Optional High-Level Integration: Connect enterprise data via C#, VB.NET, or SQL when required.
