Job summary
Hunter Douglas is seeking a hands-on Automation Controls Engineer to design, develop, and implement advanced control systems across North American plants. You will collaborate with Operations, Engineering, CI, Maintenance, IT, and QA to identify automation opportunities and deliver integrated solutions.
The role requires 3+ years in manufacturing controls, leadership experience, and strong PLC/robot programming skills.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics or Automation Engineering or equivalent.
- 3+ years in a manufacturing controls role.
- Leadership and project management experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement advanced automation systems for NA plants.
- Lead cross-functional teams to define requirements and ensure integration.
- Develop PLC/robot control, HMIs, SCADA, and data acquisition solutions.
- Validate performance, support startup, and drive continuous improvement.
- Train plant personnel on automation technologies and safety procedures.
