Job summary

Unisys seeks a motivated Automation Engineer with 3–5 years of automation, DevOps, or platform engineering experience. You will surface repetitive tasks from Steady State teams, codify procedures, and build reusable automation using Ansible, Terraform, and GitLab CI/CD, while managing credentials with Vault and artifacts with Artifactory.

You’ll analyze ServiceNow data, collaborate across operations, security, and development to reduce manual work, and document pipelines and playbooks.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience and 3-5 years of experience in automation, DevOps, or platform engineering roles.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible, Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, and HashiCorp Vault in a production environment.
• Experience analyzing ticket/incident data (ServiceNow or similar ITSM tool) to identify automation opportunities.
• Comfortable gathering requirements directly from operations teams through interviews and process walkthroughs.
• Working knowledge of Windows and Linux systems administration, storage, and backup operations.
• Solid scripting ability (Bash, Python, PowerShell, or similar).
• Understanding of DevSecOps principles and software supply chain security.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work across development, security, and operations teams.
• ServiceNow and Power BI reporting/dashboarding experience for tracking automation impact.

Responsibilities

• Mine and analyze ServiceNow ticket data to identify recurring, manual tasks.
• Prioritize automation opportunities based on ticket volume, risk, and impact.
• Build and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automation delivery.
• Manage secrets/certificates via HashiCorp Vault.
• Use JFrog Artifactory to manage automation artifacts.
• Validate new automation against existing manual procedures.
• Track automation coverage and reduction in manual tickets.
• Document processes, playbooks, and pipeline configurations.
• Revisit ticket trends to keep automation backlog current.
