Job summary

FITSpr in Puerto Rico is seeking an experienced automation support engineer to join our manufacturing, packaging, facilities and utilities teams. You will troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and collaborate with vendors to resolve issues.

The role requires a BS in Engineering, Electronics, or CS, 3+ years of industrial experience (co-op/internships count), bilingual Spanish/English, and familiarity with cGMP and 21 CFR Part 1.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Electronics, or Computer Science with 3+ years of combined industrial experience.
• Experience with cGMP, FDA/EMA regulations, and 21 CFR Part 1.
• Spanish and English bilingual (verbal/written).
• Shift: 12-hour, per business needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to Manufacturing, Packaging, Facilities, and Utilities teams for automated, PLC-controlled equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on PLCs, drives, and smart devices.
• Assist with installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and upgrades of PLCs, HMI, SCADA, and related interfaces.
• Maintain software and documentation for automated systems and support CMMS planning.
• Write and review SOPs for automated equipment and contribute to process improvements.
• Collaborate with hardware/software vendors to resolve issues and ensure compliance with cGMP and site security.
