A trading-focused investment firm is seeking an Automation Analyst to improve operational workflows, internal systems, and post-trade processes through programming and automation. This role will work closely with trading operations, traders, and developers to build practical tools, streamline daily tasks, improve data review and reconciliation, and strengthen process controls.
Finance experience is not required. The ideal candidate is a strong problem solver with Python and SQL skills, a genuine interest in learning trading operations, and a drive to make complex workflows simpler, more reliable, and more efficient.
Mandatory Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong working knowledge of Python.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL.
- 2+ years of professional experience preferred; strong recent graduates will also be considered.
- Strong quantitative problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to translate complex problems into practical, working solutions.
- Ability to communicate clearly, precisely, and adaptively.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams.
- Self‑starter mindset with the ability to identify issues and create solutions without heavy direction.

- Experience with Pandas is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and improve automated workflows across databases, APIs, and internal systems.
- Develop tools that simplify daily trading operations tasks and reduce manual effort.
- Automate data review, reconciliation, exception handling, and operational control processes.
- Partner with trading operations, traders, and developers to identify workflow pain points and create automation‑driven solutions.
- Serve as a point of contact for triaging, debugging, and resolving workflow or system issues.
- Own and document process use cases, requirements, logic, and operational procedures.
- Balance longer‑term automation initiatives with immediate production support needs.
- Help design maintainable, intuitive, and simplified systems that improve the reliability of post‑trade processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong SQL skills and comfort working with databases.
- Ability to work with APIs, data workflows, and system integrations.
- Strong analytical and quantitative reasoning skills.
- Ability to break down operational problems and convert them into practical technical solutions.
- Clear communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Ownership mindset, curiosity, and willingness to learn trading operations in depth.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Pandas.
- Prior automation, workflow engineering, data operations, or systems support experience.
- Exposure to trading operations, financial markets, or post‑trade processes.
- Experience debugging production workflows or supporting business‑critical systems.
- Experience documenting technical workflows, use cases, and process logic.
