Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking a Software Development Engineer to configure, develop, test, maintain and support Micron and third‑party applications across the full software development life cycle.

Based in Boise, Idaho, you will gather requirements, document designs, and deliver automation and manufacturing software with a focus on reliability, performance, and continuous improvement, including on‑call support.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of enterprise software development experience.
Hands-on experience with object-oriented programming and SDLC practices.
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and AI tools/technologies.
Software testing experience in manufacturing or automation environments.
Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Coordinate tool automation and host enhancements with automation developers and domain experts to deliver projects on schedule.
Gather, prioritize, and document requirements for new automation systems and enhancements across 300mm fabs globally.
Test and support manufacturing and automation software releases, including upgrades and resiliency improvements.
Fix and resolve automation and software issues in a daily support role, including 24x7 on-call rotation.
Maintain user documentation and provide regular project status reporting to management.
