Job summary

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc. (SGA), is seeking an Automation/SDET Test Engineer for a contract role with a premier financial services client in New York, NY.

The role focuses on building reusable automation components, API testing, data profiling, and DevOps-enabled test strategies. You will work in an Agile, cross-functional team environment, designing and maintaining integration test suites, handling data masking and test data pipelines, and validating REST APIs across AWS services.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in Java for test automation.
• Experience with Selenium or Cypress for automation testing.
• Experience in performance testing on the Cloud with LoadRunner.
• Experience designing and masking test data for data pipelines.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Experience building test automation frameworks and data integration concepts.
• Strong debugging and analytical skills to troubleshoot data transformations.
• Experience with AWS services: Data Glue, Databricks, Athena, Collibra Data Quality.
• Experience with AWS web services: S3, CloudWatch, RDS, Lambda, IAM.
• Experience in a DevOps environment with GitLab and CI/CD for test data pipelines.
• Spark knowledge to leverage Spark.
• REST API testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop configurable, maintainable test automation components and enable DevOps through continuous testing.
• Create test approaches aligned with business requirements and keep plans updated.
• Design, develop, and maintain integration testing suites with reusable components.
• Perform API testing and data profiling across end-to-end data tasks.
• Develop, execute, and maintain complex test cases to verify requirements.
• Analyze root causes and troubleshoot data transformation issues.
• Assist with setup/maintenance of test environments and metrics; manage automation tools and frameworks.
• Collaborate in Agile cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions across environments.
