Job summary

GE Vernova seeks an Automation Engineer to design, develop, and support automation and control systems across manufacturing operations. The role collaborates with engineering, maintenance, operations, and IT to improve productivity, product quality, safety, and reliability.

You will lead implementation of automation solutions from concept through commissioning and continuous improvement, supporting lean manufacturing initiatives and PFMEA activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering field (mechanical, mechatronics, robotics).
• Minimum 3 years in robotic/automation projects in manufacturing/industrial settings.
• Strong PLC programming knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with automation integrators on equipment installation, startup and validation.
• Analyze automation system performance and implement control system modifications.
• Perform root-cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance to identify equipment improvements.
• Program, maintain, optimize and troubleshoot automation controls systems (PLC, robots, networks).
• Lead troubleshooting during downtime and document control system changes.
• Ensure safety programming and validate safety functions after repairs or modifications.
• Coach maintenance staff on automation operation and troubleshooting.
