Job summary

GE Vernova Bangor is seeking an experienced Automation & Robotics Specialist to install, troubleshoot, and optimize robotic systems and automated cells in a production environment. You will diagnose complex faults across electrical, mechanical, and control domains, provide escalation support, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities include supporting PLC/HMI/robot programs, performing I/O diagnostics, and validating system changes after repairs or upgrades.

Qualifications

Associate degree or technical diploma in Mechatronics, Robotics, Industrial Automation, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, Controls Technology or equivalent hands-on experience.
4+ years in manufacturing, automation, robotics, or advanced maintenance environment.
Experience troubleshooting integrated industrial equipment beyond routine replacement.
Willingness to work a 3-shift schedule (A/B/C).

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize robotic systems and automated production cells.
Diagnose alarms, faults, interlocks, and machine state conditions to identify root causes.
Lead technical troubleshooting during downtime and coordinate with engineering controls teams.
Support system upgrades, retrofits, and integration of new automation technologies.
Develop and maintain clear troubleshooting documentation and standards.
