Job summary

Image Associates Inc. is seeking an Automation Engineer to coordinate automation activities across our manufacturing facility. You will provide automation and robotics engineering support to improve product quality and reduce production costs.

The role requires in-depth PLC, VSD, SCADA and HMI knowledge, and the ability to write control logic for PLC systems. You will work on automation projects, develop robot algorithms, and travel domestically about 10–20% to support other plants.

Qualifications

1-3 years automated manufacturing engineering experience.
Experience in steel or steel parts manufacturing preferred.
Ability to write control logic for PLC systems.

Responsibilities

Must have in-depth understanding and experience with PLCs, VSDs, SCADA, and HMI.
Work on automation or robotics projects.
Write control logic for PLC systems, including programming, testing, and troubleshooting.
Develop algorithms and programming for industrial robots.
Study workflows to identify automation opportunities.
Implement and maintain PLC systems across the plant.
Participate in vendor/equipment selection for automation and robotics.
Conduct studies to maximize robot utilization.
Ensure automation system documentation and instructions are accurate and effective.
Provide automation technical support to other plants with 10–20% domestic travel.
