Job summary

Amsted Rail's Granite City facility seeks a Controls Co-op to assist the Continuous Improvement team in delivering and supporting automated systems from initial design through development, build, install and handover to operations.

The role blends hands-on floor work with office tasks, collaborating with Design Engineering, Quality and Production to improve production functionality throughout the lifecycle of the product.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering
• Academic or work experience with developing electromechanical systems, including software and controls for robotics and automation
• Able to work 20 hours per week during school and near full-time during summer

Responsibilities

• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver and support automated systems from design to handover to operations
• Ongoing continuous improvement of production functionality on the manufacturing floor and in the office
