Job summary

Remitian is seeking a high-agency QA Engineer to build quality into software that processes payments and tax data. You will own Playwright-based UI tests and API automation, embedding with product squads to discuss testability early.

This hybrid role is based in Ottawa or Florida (Miami preferred), with 3–4 days/week in the office. You will lead release verification and push improvements to testing, monitoring, and data to reduce defects in production.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of QA, quality engineering, or test automation experience.
• Hands-on with automated tests, ideally Playwright + TypeScript.
• Experience testing REST APIs, including auth flows and error cases.
• Strong grounding in risk-based testing and when to automate.
• Ability to read logs and investigate issues beyond symptoms.
• Proactive, owning tasks and driving quality forward.
• Effective written and verbal communication with non-technical stakeholders.
• Willing to work in Ottawa or Florida, with Miami preferred, on a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities

• Review stories and acceptance criteria before development begins to identify gaps and automation opportunities.
• Write and maintain UI automation in Playwright and API automation tests.
• Partner with product engineering squads to discuss testability during planning.
• Verify releases post-deployment and enforce quality gates.
• Maintain test environments, data, and CI/CD integration for reliable results.
• Hunt flaky tests and improve the test framework.
• Track quality signals and report progress to the team.
