Job summary

Blue Origin LLC–Honeybee Robotics in Colorado seeks an experienced Project Engineer for automated manufacturing systems. The role focuses on leading complex automation projects from requirements through production-ready delivery, balancing design feasibility with manufacturability.

The ideal candidate has hands-on mechanical/controls experience, strong simulation skills, and a track record of delivering scalable manufacturing solutions. A US-legal work status is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls, Mechatronics, or related field
• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in automated manufacturing systems; 2+ years in project leadership
• Hands-on automation experience including mechanical design and controls engineering to lead teams
• Experience with automation simulation and cycle time analysis using Process Simulate, Visual Components, FlexSim or similar
• U.S. citizen or eligible for US work authorization

Responsibilities

• Define, document, and validate system requirements for automated manufacturing solutions
• Develop simulations and cycle time models to optimize automation strategies
• Lead design for automated manufacturing initiatives with product design teams
• Prepare cost estimates, schedules, and scope of work for automation projects
• Own project execution from requirements to commissioning and production readiness
• Coordinate with engineering and procurement to select components and suppliers
