Job summary

Lubrizol Corporation seeks an Automation & Process Control Leader for its Bayport, TX facility. The role focuses on ensuring reliability and performance of automation and process control systems, leading projects, and delivering innovative control solutions across DCS/PLCs/HMI ecosystems.

You will coordinate with vendors, maintain system integrity, and drive continuous improvement. You will guide technical teams, develop system specifications and documentation, and mentor staff while ensuring

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
5+ years' experience as Automation/Process Control Engineer in chemical manufacturing environments.
Experience leading engineering projects from design to startup and handover.
Strong knowledge of PLCs, DCS, SCADA, and HMI platforms.
Experience programming Ladder Logic, Python, or C++.
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex automation issues.
Experience with DeltaV or similar DCS.
Understanding instrumentation, process control strategies, and industrial networking.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Proficiency with SAP, AutoCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership for automation projects across the Bayport facility.
Oversee DCS infrastructure and support safe plant operations.
Design, develop, and implement automation solutions (PLCs, DCS, SCADA, HMI).
Create technical specifications, control narratives, and diagrams.
Ensure compliance with standards and codes for automation systems.
Source automation equipment and materials and conduct risk assessments.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation issues.
Lead projects through installation, commissioning, validation, and handover.
Integrate new automation technologies with existing systems.
Program, configure, and optimize control systems to meet performance objectives.
Conduct performance testing, calibration, and commissioning validations.
Manage DeltaV servers, virtualization, production and test environments.
Coordinate with Emerson and vendors for upgrades and issues.
Administer DeltaV access controls and cybersecurity governance.
Lead DCS lifecycle management and technology roadmap planning.
Identify process optimization opportunities for efficiency.
Develop maintenance strategies and documentation.
Provide leadership to Automation Support Group and PCM activities.
Prepare technical documentation and communicate progress to stakeholders.
