Job summary

East Penn Manufacturing Company, Inc. in Temple, TX is seeking an experienced technician to support automated processes across facilities. You will assist in modifications, upgrades, troubleshooting, and basic PLC programming, ensuring high quality and safety practices.

You will work with PLCs, control networks, and electrical schematics, learn new technologies, document all work, and train others. This on-site role requires good communication and dedication to reliability and safety.

Qualifications

An understanding in the use of PLC programming instructions.
Basic understanding of numbering systems.
Knowledge of indirect addressing, indexed addressing, block transfers.
Understanding of DH+, DH485, RIO, Ethernet, DeviceNet and ControlNet.
Ability to navigate Windows operating systems.
Knowledge of file management on the network for archiving.
Knowledge of drivers for PC-to-PLC communication.
Ability to read, understand and draw electrical schematics.
Basic understanding of variable frequency drives.
Knowledge of electrical test equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, megger).
Willing to learn new technologies and train others.
Troubleshooting to diagnose machine breakdowns.
Plan, schedule, and perform tasks with minimal supervision.
Maintain records (Somax work orders and modification forms).
Understand NEC and OSHA safety policies.
Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

Assist with modifications, upgrades, troubleshooting, basic programming, diagnosis and repair of automated processes and equipment.
Assist in PLC program development, layouts, ordering parts and overseeing work completion.
Learn new processes, software, hardware and operating systems by using available resources.
Transfer files on East Penn network for archiving purposes.
Modify electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
Assist and train others.
Document all work performed.
Communicate in a positive manner.
Support of all East Penn facilities and processes.
Maintains regular attendance.
Willingness and availability to work overtime.
Performs other duties as requested by Management.
Responsible for producing a high quality product.
Responsible for proper hygiene, housekeeping, and safety practices.
