Job summary

UPS in Commerce City, CO is seeking a Specialist to diagnose and repair automation equipment, from conveyors to plant-floor technology, ensuring peak performance. You will respond to alarms, perform preventive maintenance, calibrate devices, and collaborate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime in a fast-paced environment.

The role aligns with early start shifts (3:00 AM or 6:30 PM) on a Monday–Friday schedule, with relocation not available and local residency required.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting, controls, or automation systems.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, motor controls, and AC/DC electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical diagrams.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• A passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve automation and equipment issues.
• Respond quickly to alarms, system alerts, and operational interruptions.
• Perform preventive maintenance to stop problems before they happen.
• Calibrate and optimize plant-floor devices for maximum efficiency.
• Partner with maintenance teams to identify solutions and reduce downtime.
• Help drive continuous improvement across our automation systems.
