Job summary

Omnicell, Inc. is seeking an Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 to support the XR2 robotic automation system in a hospital setting. You will help manage medication inventory, perform maintenance, and collaborate with pharmacy teams to enhance efficiency and patient care.

The role emphasizes hands-on operating of XR2, troubleshooting, documentation, and ensuring regulatory compliance while maintaining certifications. Eligible candidates will have CA licensure and relevant national certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Active CA State Pharmacy Technician Registration/License where required.
• Active National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB, CPhT, or ExCPT).
• Working knowledge or familiarity with pharmacy automation.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain Omnicell XR2 automation systems.
• Manage medication inventory including restocking, returns, and formulary optimization.
• Perform routine equipment inspections, cleaning, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
• Monitor system performance and elevate unresolved technical issues.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with operational and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with pharmacy staff to support efficient workflows and exceptional customer service.
• Train users on system functionality and best practices.
• Serve as a resource for customers and team members.
• Maintain required pharmacy technician certifications and licenses.

What You'll Bring
