Job summary

KPI Solutions is seeking a Permit Coordinator to lead end-to-end permitting for material handling automation across multiple project sites in Georgia and surrounding states. You will interpret codes, assemble permit packages, and coordinate with building departments and inspectors to keep schedules on track.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in permit coordination within industrial or warehousing construction, with strong documentation, communication, and travel readiness to site visits (10–25%).

Qualifications

• 5+ years in permit coordination or AHJ liaison in industrial/warehouse projects.
• Experience with building/fire/electrical codes for conveyors and automation.
• Ability to manage multiple projects across jurisdictions with limited supervision.
• Proficiency in permit-tracking software (Procore, PlanGrid).
• Able to read and mark up construction/engineering drawings.
• Willingness to travel 10-25%.

Responsibilities

• Research and interpret permit requirements across AHJs and jurisdictions.
• Prepare and submit permit packages with drawings and calculations.
• Track applications, respond to comments, and manage resubmittals.
• Serve as contact with building departments and inspectors for assigned projects.
• Coordinate with engineering and subcontractors to close RFIs related to permitting.
• Schedule inspections and drive corrective actions to closure.
• Maintain permit dashboard across 8-12 active projects.
• Monitor code changes affecting automation installs.
• Mentor junior coordinators on process and documentation standards.
• Communicate schedule/budget risks from permitting delays to the project manager.
